With a decade of farming experience, Spotted Ox began in 2022 as a continuation of previous farm goals, primarily as a passion for heritage breed swine and a home base for a rogue team of Pineywoods oxen.
With their last Gloucestershire Old Spot sow, Nellie, now living out retirement, Spotted Ox Piggery has become Spotted Ox Farm.
The love of endangered farm animals was a small leap to the appreciation for similarly endangered farming methods, crafts, tools, skills & agrarian culture.
Spotted Ox Farm is combining a decade of livestock farming, direct marketing, draft-powered market gardening, and education to develop genuinely sustainable models for small farms to incorporate draft power into their operations.
